A Bitcoin Policy Institute study of 1,516 registered voters, fielded March-June 2026 with pollster Cygnal and nonprofit Neighborhood Bitcoin, found "digital gold" messaging ranks near last among tested bitcoin pitches, while control-focused language — "you decide how much," starting at $10 — tests best. Fully 55% did not know whether major U.S. brokerages already sell bitcoin, per BPI's report.

The move signals capital cycling between two debt-debasement hedges, not bitcoin outperforming gold outright — gold itself is up 24.84% year over year, per Trading Economics.
