Crypto Job Postings Hit 1,241 in September as Applications
CryptoJobsList data show openings more than tripling since July while applications fell. A separate June snapshot from Tiger Research shows stablecoin and payments hiring concentrated in two firms, Tether and Ripple.
Crypto hiring rebounded in September, but the signal is narrow. CryptoJobsList postings reached 1,241 against 886 in August and 382 in July, while applications fell below 20,000. Tiger Research's June snapshot shows stablecoin and payments hiring concentrated in two firms, Tether and Ripple, so the breadth of demand is unproven.
The Ledger Desk · 3 min read- CryptoJobsList recorded 1,241 postings in September, up from 886 in August and 382 in July, per CoinDesk's report published October 3, 2026.
- Applications moved the other way: 25,700 in July, 24,631 in August and just under 20,000 in September, per CoinDesk.
- Tiger Research's report (published June 23, 2026; data collected June 18) counted 392 stablecoin and payments postings, 13.4% of 2,932 tracked. Tether accounted for 224 and Ripple for 104, so 83.6% sat with two firms.
- Compliance and legal was the second-largest category in Tiger Research's June data at 10.4% of postings, behind engineering at 34.1%.
- Treat both datasets as directional. They come from different origins and different months, and neither measures funding, revenue or headcount actually added.
Crypto employers posted 1,241 roles on CryptoJobsList in September, more than triple July's 382, while applications fell to just under 20,000, CoinDesk reported on October 3, 2026. For anyone tracking payments and stablecoin infrastructure, the more useful question is how broad that demand is. A separate June snapshot from Tiger Research suggests hiring in that segment is concentrated in very few companies.
What the CryptoJobsList numbers show
Postings rose in two steps, from 382 in July to 886 in August and 1,241 in September, according to CoinDesk's report of CryptoJobsList data. Applications fell over the same months: 25,700 in July, 24,631 in August and just under 20,000 in September. The number of recruiting companies was 107 in July, 77 in August and 125 in September, so September's company count is only modestly above July's despite postings more than tripling.
Where the demand sits
CoinDesk lists finance, engineering and trading as the top posting categories, with stablecoins, AI, security and compliance also in the top ten. Bitcoin, Ethereum and Solana were the most requested blockchain skills. The report does not give category counts, so the relative weight of payments or compliance roles in September cannot be measured from this source alone.
Stablecoin and payments hiring is concentrated
Tiger Research's H1 2026 report, published June 23, 2026, tracked 2,932 active postings as of June 18 across web3.career, cryptocurrencyjobs.co, direct career pages and Korean job platforms. Stablecoins and payments accounted for 392 postings, or 13.4%. Tether alone held 224 and Ripple 104, together 83.6% of the sector. Hiring in this segment therefore depends heavily on two employers.
Compliance is now a standing category
Tiger Research found engineering the largest category at 34.1%, or 999 postings, with compliance and legal second at 10.4%. The report describes compliance and legal as having grown from untracked in 2023 to roughly one in ten active postings by H1 2026. That is a measured shift in the mix of roles, drawn from a June dataset rather than the September CryptoJobsList data, and the two should not be merged.
Limits and what to watch
The two datasets use different origins, methods and months, and neither measures funding, revenue or headcount added. CoinDesk notes that 2025's busiest month was October with 373 listings, and that July through September 2025 stayed flat. What to watch next: whether October applications recover, whether the company count keeps rising beyond September's 125, and whether stablecoin and payments postings spread beyond a few issuers.
